Can I mix two different baby formulas?
My daughter is 10 1/2 months old. She has been drinking Nutramigen since she was 6 weeks old for a milk protein allergy. Now that she is older, I want to switch her to Gentlesse (spelling?) formula. It is okay to mix the two formulas to ween her off the Nutramigen slowly?
I knew I should have added this stuff....
-My pediatrician told me that I could switch her whenever I felt she was ready.
-When I tried a couple months back, she did not vomit but she became very very constipated. I don't want to do that again.
My daughter was on Gentlease and I had to switch her to Similac Advance. I was not aware that I could mix half of the Gentlease and half of the Similac. Anyway, I found out the hard way. My daughter was in so much pain being constipated from me switching her directly from Gentlease to Similac. I've learned my lesson and just thought to share that it should be fine. Double check with your pediatrician first. My pediatrician said that was fine. Just use half of each for like a week and then switch them completely over.
