What are some ideal items to put in my Native American medicine pouch?

Earlier my mom gave me a beautiful NA medicine pouch. It has wolf fur on the flap, and the rest is buckskin. I'm wearing it right now. The thing is, I don't have any idea what to put in it. Can I put more than one item in it? And why are they called medicine pouches/ bags if medicine isn't the only thing you can put in it?
Medicine does not necessarily mean the same thing to you as to them. Their idea could be what they place in for protection against evil spirits, sacred tobacco (shamans sometimes use for ceremonies), herbs, special rocks, feather, shells etc. Depends on what feels right. Best thing to do is ask a shaman. Be respectful when you do otherwise they might pull something on you (joke wise)
