Just like the sugar disappears into the glass of water after making the water sweet, acts of charity and good work for the society should be done in anonymity. If the sugar were to not dissolve into the water, we would'nt have felt comfortable while drinking the sweet water if sugar crystals were present in the glass in thick density. Thus, when a person wants to be famous for doing works of charity, he or she is like the sugar crystals that did not dissolve into the water. The intention should be to please Allah and His Messenger (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wa Sallam).

: It is necessary that any 'giving' should always be essentially a action without motive of any personal gain...a willingness self-less action which is performed with love.
: The Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) said:
"The best charity is that which the right hand gives and the left hand does not know of it."
: In the Qur'ãn (2:264), we are clearly told not to cancel our acts of giving by reminders of our generosity, and the best giving is which is given in secret.
