Hello there,
I used to be a rockhound. Have not done any collecting in a while. I used to travel a fair amount and found places to hunt where ever I went. Please feel free to send me a message if you want, there is an email link in my profile.

Can you please explain why at so many Indian (from India) places of business burn Nag Champa incense?
Yes it smells wonderful, but is there a meaning for it? Religious, superstitious or otherwise. It is quite prevalent and I am so curious... Thank you
Yes,
Most Indian businesses have either a deity, an image or some symbol of the God or Gods or Goddess or Goddesses they have faith in. Many businesses have a deity or some symbol of the Goddess Laxmi (with other Gods or Goddesses). Goddess Laxmi is the goddess of wealth.
Now every business and businessmen want to do a better business to acquire more wealth, prosperity and money.
So they burn the incese in front of the Goddess Laxmi or any other Gods or Goddesses' deity or symbols they have. This is Indian Hindu's way to pay their respect and reverence to the Gods and Goddesses. This way they make an effort to make the Goddess / Gods happy so that the Goddess / Gods with bestow the businesses and the business people with money, wealth, security, prosperity etc.
As a daily ritual they burn the incense in front of the Laxmi / Gods' / Goddess's deity, image or symbol with the belief and faith that they will be rewarded with good business, money, wealth, prosperity, security, happiness etc. as they pay their reverence to the Gods and Goddesses in a typical traditional way of burning incense and bowing down to them that is their deitys, images or symbols.
